SCHOLARSHIP

BREAK YOUR BOUNDARY

A Scholarship program that offer you a chance to pursue your dream, while choosing to payback to the future generations when you can, with full flexibility

We promise to fund you
on the condition that you pay back,
not to us, but to the future generations

“Break Your Boundary” is an initiative led by Matilda foundation, aiming to provide financial support to determined candidates with financial difficulties. The program is a hybrid between a student loan program and a scholarship, where the foundation finances the candidates in full on the condition that the candidates will seek to pay back the principle when they can on their own terms. The payback will be used to finance candidates in the future batches. The foundation will not determine the payback period and will not collect interest.

It is a scholarship from us, but a student loan for you.

This initiative is founded upon a belief that education should not be a privilege. In Thailand, access to higher education is only viable to those with financial capability or those smartest kids who can win a scholarship. We want to expand the access beyond that. We think that opportunities should also be given to those who are most determined, have clear vision, and are willing to pay it forward. We believe that this hybrid approach will be a more sustainable solution that enables the the less fortunates to have freedom of choices, and financial support at the same time. The structure will also prove the determination of the applicants. If you are looking for ways to finance your higher education, and you are willing to pay the principle back (when you can) so others can have similar opportunity, why don’t you see whether we are the right fit for you?

Applicable Field of Study: This scholarship is open to all fields of study, as long as it is a master degree or above. A certificate course can also be considered if the candidates meet all of the other requirements mentioned below.

Education as an investment not a privilege

We want to encourage Thai youth to see education more as an investment not as a privilege. This is why we require a payback from our candidates.

I would prefer to take a loan if I can, so I can choose my own future. I simply don’t have the financial capability now, but that does no mean that I won’t have in the future.”
